The Turning Point

For years, I used towels to drape my clients because that's what we all used. But towels shifted. Wax clung to them. And behind every service was the endless washing, bleaching, and replacing, hard on my time, my budget, and the planet I care about.

I kept thinking there had to be a better way.

Then one day, wax landed on a brand-new towel during a Brazilian. As I went to throw it away, frustrated all over again, I realized I needed another option. And if I needed it, I knew other professionals probably did too.

So I decided to create it.

I wanted something I could drape and tuck like a towel, clean and disinfect between clients, and use again and again. Something appropriate for direct contact with the body, with a surface that made wax easier to remove. I kept thinking about what all of those towels, all of that laundry, and all of that waste amounted to across our industry.

As DuraVie came to life, my clients began sharing things I hadn't anticipated. Some held onto the edge during a service and told me it gave them a greater sense of control. Others responded to the soft, smooth texture and described how reassuring the sensory experience felt. Those conversations meant so much to me. I had set out to solve a practical problem, but my clients were showing me that DuraVie could support them in ways I hadn't even considered. I wanted to create something that could do good for our clients, our profession, and our planet. Hearing my clients tell me what DuraVie has meant to them has made the long road to creating it worth it.
